The first flakes of snow are starting to fall here on the ranch and it’s looking to be a cold, wet October. It has rained, misted, or snowed every day so far this month and the sun has barely shown at all. It makes for mighty dreary days, and it means we’ll probably have a lot of snow this winter.
I am going to be spending most of October getting ready for an event in November called NaNoWriMo which stands for National Novel Writing Month. The goal is to write 50,000 words in 30 days and finish the first draft of a novel. I’m going to try and hit the full 50k but I am pretty sure that my book will be closer to 75k at least.
If you are planning to do NaNoWriMo and you want to be writing buddies with me, my username is Cowgirlsavvy98. Currently, my Nano project is called The Redwolf Warrior, but that will probably change eventually, it was just the least cliche title I could think of at the moment.
I would post a bunch of helpful tips for Preptober, as its often called, but since this is my first year doing Nanowrimo I don’t really know what I’m doing, so I’m reading every article and watching every video I can. If you have any tips I’d Love to hear them!
I will probably be MIA for most of November except to do an update every now and then to procrastinate because I have writer’s block. lol
Towards the end of this month, I will be helping my youth group during an overnight retreat and church-wide paintball tournament. I’ve never done paintball before so I am really excited! It’s something my church does every year, but I’ve never been able to go before because I’m always busy at the time. But this year I filled out my form and handed in the small fee as early as possible, so one way or another I am going to work things out so that I can go!
Another new thing I’m doing this month is family portraits! some friends want me to shoot their family portraits and I am so excited and nervous at the same time. I was really hoping to do them this week because all the trees around here are such beautiful colors, but the weather is not cooperating.
